I don't particularly have any images to go with these last few tips but here they are:ĭon't be afraid to take inspiration from music Use the other colors as accents to really fill out your design. One last tip I've learned with rainbow color palettes: it is best to have one or two colors take a primary focus in the design, such as red & purple. Make sure to break it up a little with black or white accents, or use the rainbow colors themselves as an accent.
However I recommend avoiding just sticking the entire rainbow on one Character as their color scheme. That's not to say that rainbow colored Characters can't be done, in fact there are ways to do so with great success. You should never have a rainbow mess of a color scheme.
When using a lot of cooler colors (cold colors are anything in the green-blue-purple range), it's important to have a little pop of brighter 'warner' colors to break up the design a bit. Notice that most of the darker colors were used to give more of an effect of gradients or shadow rather than taking primary focus in the design.
